My total was $1.98 and the q is -$2 so the cashier wouldn’t take the coupon at all, not even to adjust it down.

They should have adjusted the coupon. This is from their coupon policy:

Refused the coupon ! Said the product total had to be more than the coupon. Would not adjust.

“The coupon amount will be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other
discounts or coupons are applied. (For example, a $5.00 coupon for a $4.99 item
will result in a $4.99 coupon value).”

Tip for all you CVSers:
Have them scan your CVS card at the end. That way, any Q will apply to the original price [and these air fresheners are normally $2.99 I believe] so that $2/2 Q will work without any problems. Also that extra $0.02 will eat into the tax, so you should be paying only ~$0.14 for these two after the Q
